A quietly refined retreat in the heart of the Bikan District.

Temari inn "Madoromi" is a one-group-per-day accommodation that opened in March 2023 in the Kurashiki Bikan Historical Quarter.

Originally a private home that once operated as a barbershop, it has been partially preserved and renovated with a modern design.

We have prepared two low-platform double beds in the living space, offering a comfortable and relaxing place to unwind.

Our inn is located on Honmachi Street in the Kurashiki Bikan Historical Quarter.

Unlike the lively riverside area, this is a quiet and peaceful neighborhood, dotted with stylish and thoughtfully curated shops.

On the first floor, you'll find our sister shop, Haremo Kemo, a charming confectionery store.

The entrance to the inn is tucked away behind Honmachi Street, quietly nestled in a part of town where local life still thrives.

The burnt cedar wood paneling serves as a distinctive landmark.

Tucked away along the quieter end of Honmachi Street within the Bikan Historical Quarter, our inn offers a peaceful retreat—an invitation to relax and unwind as if gently drifting into a doze.

It was from this feeling that we chose the name "Madoromi", meaning “a light slumber.”

At the heart of the space are beds spacious enough for up to four guests to lie down and relax together. Surrounding them are a kitchen, a small adjoining room, and at the far end, a cozy bar counter area.

The inn also includes a washroom, toilet, and bath.

In front of the beds, you'll find a hanging screen and a projector (Aladdin Vase), allowing you to enjoy your favorite movies or music as you spend your time just the way you like.

Next to the living space is a cozy room with a single-size bunk bed.

With its soft, warm lighting, the space feels like a little hideaway—we hope both adults and children will find it just a bit exciting and delightful.

At the very back of the inn, you’ll find a bar-like space curated by our staff, featuring carefully selected drinkware, tableware, and a variety of local sake and snacks unique to Okayama.

Please feel free to choose your favorite cup or dish, and enjoy not only its design but also the feel of using it—ideally paired with your meal for a more enriching experience.

Please note that drinks and snacks are available for an additional charge.

Check-in is done in the room.

Our locally-based staff will be happy to suggest ways to tailor your stay according to your preferences.

There are many wonderful shops just a few minutes away from the inn, and we hope you find them helpful as you plan your stay.

Additionally, the inn is equipped with a kitchen.

Just about a 5-minute walk away, you'll find a supermarket, shops offering delicious snacks, a local sake shop, and a natural wine store.

We recommend picking up whatever you like and enjoying it at your own pace, whenever you feel like it.

With that, we invite you to enjoy a peaceful time away from the everyday at our quiet inn, tucked deep within the Bikan Historical Quarter.

If you have any questions about your stay, please feel free to let us know.
